About Us
Welcome to Kids Family Finance! We created this blog as a resource for parents to teach kids about money and work. How many of you have wondered why schools teach math, english, history, etc. but teach little to nothing about money? We’ve wondered the same thing and are motivated to help you teach your kids about money…the right way.
With having 3 young children we understand how difficult it is to teach kids these days the importance of work and money. The Workstars Family Economy System is our #1 resource to help parents teach kids the importance of work and how to manage money – and it’s free. Hundreds of families have seen great success with this System.

Hello friends! We are so glad that you are here and hope you will stick around for a while. Here’s a little about me…My formal education background is in Family Consumer Science Education, where I taught Family Finance to High Schoolers. While in college I also worked in the mortgage/home loan industry for several years.
For the past three years, I have been blogging at My Mommy Style which I founded with my sister and cousin. We have seen great success at My Mommy Style and learned so much about ourselves and had the opportunity to meet so many great people. This has been a great avenue for me to share tips on parenting, DIY, recipes, and fashion.
It has been so much fun to create this new blog, Kids Family Finance, with my husband as my blogging partner…and to share our tips on money, education, and our family chore chart system.
I love to organize and I try my best to be on top of things but I relish the days that I am just hanging out with my kids in sweatpants. I love that I don’t have to commute to a job every day and that is probably a public service to everyone because I often get lost!
I hope to learn from all of you as well in this adventure, because we have definitely had most of our parenting training “on the job”. That is what I have loved the most about blogging is that it provides a great forum to collaborate and learn together. I hope Kids Family Finance can be that type of place!

Hi all! We really appreciate you taking the time to check out our site. We have put a lot of time and effort into the content and hope you enjoy!
Here’s a little about myself…I have been a practicing CPA for over 10 years. I started my career in public accounting where I visited and learned about all different types of businesses and their finances. I currently hold a position as a CFO/Controller at a large law firm in Salt Lake City, Utah where I manage a finance department of 7 individuals. So I eat, sleep, & drink finance all day!
I can honestly say that I never envisioned writing a blog as part of my career, but I absolutely love it. I have really enjoyed interacting with all of you and sharing ideas.
When I’m not working or blogging, my other passion is all things sports. I love to play basketball (I better at 6’6″ tall!), golf, and enjoy doing crossfit to stay in shape. Camille will tell you I’m happiest when I’m plopped down in front of a real good Utah Jazz or NFL game, and that’s the truth!
I would also be remiss if I didn’t mention my passion for personal finances and excel spreadsheets. I’m one of those geeks who can’t get enough of personal finance books & podcasts. I couldn’t tell you the last time I read an entire fictional novel or sci-fi book, but get me a good personal finance or non-fiction motivational book and I’m a happy camper.
We hope to share our ideas with you on this blog and hope you will join in and share your ideas in our Facebook Group. Thanks for your support.
